Privacy Policy

This is a plain-English summary of what we actually do, not a template we haven't read. Last updated 2026-09-06.

Who we are

Fix My Drain Bristol is an independent, UK-focused site comparing local drain-unblocking specialists. We're a small, early-stage project — not a large company with a dedicated privacy team, but the same honesty standard we apply to our content applies here too.

What we collect

If you use the "Get a quote" form on a service page, we collect the name, phone number, and job details you type in, plus which service and city page you submitted it from. That's the only personal information this site actively asks you for.

We don't currently run any analytics, tracking, or advertising cookies. If we add analytics in future (we've considered it, not yet enabled it), we'll update this page and add a cookie notice before it goes live — not silently.

What happens to it

Right now, quote-form submissions are logged to our hosting provider's (Vercel) server logs so we can see that the form works. We do not yet have a live CRM, email forwarding, or SMS system connected — this is an honest limitation of an early-stage site, not a hidden data-sharing arrangement. We don't sell, rent, or share your details with any local specialist, advertiser, or third party. The local specialists listed on this site are not our partners and do not receive your details automatically — if we ever change that (e.g. to actually connect you with a specialist), we'll say so clearly on the form itself before you submit.

How long we keep it, and your rights

Server logs are retained per our hosting provider's standard retention period, not indefinitely by us. Under UK GDPR you can ask what we hold about you, ask us to delete it, or ask us not to contact you again — get in touch via the quote form on any page and mark your message "privacy request", and we'll act on it. We're a small independent operator, so response may take a few days rather than being automated.

Changes to this policy

If what we do with your data changes in a meaningful way, we'll update this page and the date at the top — not bury the change in fine print.
